Favorites from around the web-2012

I really like the way this picture looks with hundreds of stars in the sky and then all of the lights shining from the ground that appear a kind of gold color. This photo was taken by Jim M. Goldstein.

This is another one of Jim M. Goldstein's photos. I would say that the main subject in this photo is the star trails. I really like how there is a main point that the stars are traveling around. Also, i like the colors of the sky.

This photo was taken by Denise Goldberg. The rocks and water are the main subject, and the mountain in the back is the secondary subject. I like how the mountain appears kind of faded and almost appears like a shadow.

This is another photo taken by Denise Goldberg. The main subject is all of the little ducklings. This photo turned out well because only the ducklings are in focus.

This is a picture of an otter eating a fish. the otter is the main subject of this photo. This is a cool picture, because this is something that we do not see everyday. I really like how only the otter and the fish are in focus so that you can really  concentrate on those two things. This picture was taken by Matthijs van Renselaar.

This is a picture of cherry tomatoes dropped in water. The tomatoes are he main subject of this picture. This picture turned out really well because you can see all the details in the tomatoes, and all the bubbles are also in focus. Matthijs van Renselaar took this photo.

This is a picture taken by Jacob F. Lucas. I like how the water looks kind of "soft" in this picture. Also, the bridge in the background makes this picture look better.

This picture was also taken by Jacob F. Lucas. I really like how the waterfall is lit up, and how there are hundred of stars in the sky. The colors in the sky make this picture even better.

This picture was taken underwater. I think underwater picture look very cool, because it is pictures of things we don't normally see. What i like about this picture is how the sun rays are shining through the hole in the cave, right on to the scuba diver. This picture was taken by Suzy Walker.

This is a picture of a clown fish near an anemone. This is also something that we do not see everyday, which makes the photo even cooler. I like how the fish's mouth is open. The fish is the main subject of this photo. Suzy Walker took this photo.

Cold

This is a picture of a pine tree branch with snow on it. What I like about this picture is that the pine tree is really in focus and then there is another tree in the background with bare branches. The pine tree is the main subject and the tree behind it is the secondary subject. I am not sure what I could do to make this picture better.

After school today I went on a walk with our korean exchange student, June, and my dog to the arboretum, to take some pictures for class! The main subject of this photo is the tree right in the front of the picture. I like this picture, but maybe if there was some sun outside today it would have made a better sky for the background.

The main subject of this photo is the road. I like how the road curves, so you can not see what it leads too. I also like how the road is surrounded by snow, to make the road stand out more.

This is one of the bridges in the arboretum, which would be the main subject. I like the way this picture looks with the gray effect. The gray effect gives this photo an "old" look to it.

This is a picture of my dog, Benji! He would not stay stay still, so i could not not get a very good picture. He is obviously the main subject. I like how in the background there isn't to much going on, so that you can focus on the main subject. I also like how Benji isn't looking right at the camera. I think it adds more effect to the photo.

This picture was taken in the arboretum. It is a picture of the trees as if you were looking straight up in the sky. I like how it looks like all of the trees are going towards the middle. I also like how this picture was taken from an uncommon point of view. You do not usually look up in the sky to look at the tree tops.

Open Theme #1

The main subject in this photo is the birdhouse. This picture worked out well, because only the birdhouse is in focus, and everything else is blurred out. This picture could have been better if taken at a different time of the day.

In this photo, the tree branches are the main subject. I think this photo worked out well, because the branches are dark against the bright sky. This photo also could have been better by maybe taking it at a different time of the day.

This is a picture of Keagan and me, when i babysat the other night! We are the main subject in this picture. This picture could have been better, if the background was blurred out a little bit. There is too much going on in the background which leads you to looking there instead of the main subject.

Another picture of me and Keagan! Again, we are the main subject of this picture. I like how it is clear that we are the main subject in this picture. A different lighting could have made this picture better.
